MAXIMUM PRESSURE 400 BAR


Rotary couplings transfer hydraulic oil from a xed to a rotating machine part. The assembly is done in the rotation axis of the subassembly. Depending on the number of junction levels several single or double acting hydraulic elements can be connected. On principle, the rotary coupling is only suitable for hydraulic oil. In the design stage it needs to be considered that the rotation movement is obstructed by the seal friction. This frictional drag is pressure dependant and must be considered for the drive torque of the rotary table. Corresponding information can be found in the reling diagrams which show the starting torques existing while all junction levels are pressurised.

Important operating instruction:
  • As hydraulic medium HLP as per DIN 51524-2 is prescribed. For the use of other media please contact us. The diagrams on the following page show the starting torque and the admissible continuous number of rotations as a function of the operating pressure.
  • If the rotary coupling is operated at the limit of performance (pressure + number of rotations),
    pay attention to suf cient supply of cooling air (see Technical characteristics).
    Operating temperature range: -10°C to +60°C.

MOUNTING

Fixing is made precisely in axial direction at the housing or at the ange of the rotary piston.
The rmly-screwed component can be connected with pipes. To compensate the torque, the other part is connected to an anti- rotation key that offers suf cient freedom of motion and avoids forced conditions as well as axial forces. That is the reason why also here high-pressure hoses have to be used instead of pipes. The leakage port at the housing must not be closed to avoid malfunctions.
The rotary coupling may only be taken into operation when all junction levels are connected to the power unit in order to guarantee the necessary seal lubrication.
The multiple passage rotary couplings have axial and radial G1/4 threaded ports in the rotating piston. In addition, they can be connected axially at the rotating piston with O-Rings 16 x 2. In this case, please calculate the necessary screw forces of the xing screws imperatively.
